A night of missile attacks left Odessa's centre in ruins. This was the fifth consecutive night the peaceful Ukrainian Black Sea city was shelled

According to information from Urkaine's Operational Command South, 19 people have been wounded so far, including 4 children. Fourteen adults and 3 children have been hospitalized. The data are being clarified. 

Six residential buildings, including multi-storey apartment blocks were destroyed. The Transfiguration Cathedral in the city was damaged, as were dozens of cars. Many buildings have broken windows, damaged roofs and facades, Oleg Kiper, chairman of the Odessa regional military administration, said in the Telegram app. 

Several streets in the center of Odessa are closed to traffic, city utility workers are clearing up the debris and damage from the blasts. 

According to the latest data, over 40 buildings were destroyed in Odessa as a result of the night shelling.

The city's municipal services are working across the city, the Odessa City Council said on its website.

Objects of civil infrastructure, apartment blocks and private residential buildings, cars of citizens and the Transfiguration Cathedral on the central square of the city were damaged and destroyed. 

The Bulgarian community in the Odessa region is the third largest and numbers over 150,000 people, according to the official 2001 census in Ukraine. About 50-60,000 Bulgarians live in Odessa.
