site.btaBusiness Climate in Bulgaria in June Remains Roughly the Same as in Previous Month

After the 4 percentage points growth of the business climate in Bulgaria in May on a monthly basis, in June the indicator remained roughly the same as in the previous month, with an improvement only in retail trade. shows a reference in the National Statistical Institute (NSI). In May, compared to April, the NSI reported an increase in the indicator in all monitored sectors - industry, construction, retail trade and services, while in June there was an increase only in retail trade.

Uncertain economic environment, insufficient workforce, prices of materials continue to be among the main difficulties for enterprises reported by the NSI in the middle of the year. 

In January 2023 the overall indicator of the business climate maintained approximately its level from December 2022, and its values slightly increased in February, by 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous month. In March the business climate maintained its level of February, and in April,  there was a reported increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous month, according to the NSI.
