Sofia to Host Fifth Northern Lights
Film Fest Edition
December 3 to 11


Sofia, November 17 (BTA) - A fifth edition of the Northern
Lights Nordic Film Fest will be held here at Cinema House, Euro
Cinema, Odeon and the G8 cultural centre from December 3 to 11,
the organizers of Pozor Company said.

The festival will open with "The Last Sentence" directed by the
Swedish legend Jan Troell, which won the Best Director Award at
the festival in Montreal and the Best Actress Award for Ulla
Skoog in Chicago.

The festival features 14 titles, including the Danish "А
Hijacking", which won five Robert awards, the biographical drama
"Marie Kroyer" about the marriage between the painters Marie
and P.S. Kroyer, the rebellious "Sons of Norway" and "Call
Girl", which was nominated best film by the European Film
Academy.

This year the programme will focus on screenings. The selection
was made in conjunction with the Sofia Literary Festival which
will present Scandinavian literature from December 9 to 14.
There will be a premiere of "Kristin Lavransdatter", based on a
trilogy of historical novels written by Nobel laureate Sigrid
Undset.

There will be special screenings of "North of the Sun", with
dozens of awards from international forums. A limited number of
viewers will be able to watch it on an ultra-modern 65-inch
Philips TV set.

The Northern Lights fest is organized with the support of the
Nordic Culture Fund in partnership with the embassies of
Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Swedish Consulate in
