Draft OP Regions in Growth


Sofia, November 18 (BTA) - The government on Tuesday approved a
draft Operational Programme Regions in Growth, cofinanced by the
European Fund for Regional Development and the national budget,
the government information service said.

The Regional Development Minister will submit the final draft
for approval to the European Commission, which is expected to be
approved by the end of 2014.

The Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014-2020 envisages
investments in eight priority axes: Sustainable and integrated
urban development (840 million euro);
Support for outermost and less developed regions (106 million
euro); Regional education infrastructure (115 million euro);
Regional health infrastructure (83 million euro); Regional
social infrastructure (51 million euro); Regional tourism (101
million euro); Regional road infrastructure (194 million euro);
Technical Assistance (52 million euro).

Financial support under the OP Regions in Growth 2014-2020 is
territorially balanced. A new priority axis will address
development of outermost and less-developed regions,

The programme will make available nearly 1.54 billion euro in
European and national funding to improve social, economic and
territorial development, generate growth and employment across
Bulgaria's regions. PK/PP
