Procedures for Lv 6,000 Mln-Plus to Be Opened, over Lv 1,100 Mln to Be Paid in 2015 under New Operational Programmes, Deputy PM Donchev Says

Sofia, January 21 (BTA) - Depending on the pace of approval of
the operational programmes and the arrangements that are being
made, parallel to the pace of accreditation of the managing
authorities, procedures for more than 6,000 million leva and
payments of more than 1,100 million leva are planned this year,
Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister for EU Funds and Economic Policy
Tomislav Donchev said at a hearing of the National Assembly
European Affairs and EU Funds Oversight Committee here on
Wednesday.

"In this sense, the two programming periods are cumulated,"
Donchev pointed out. "In this best-case scenario, more than
5,600 million leva should be paid, which is incomparable to the
previous cash flows for any year whatsoever."

The Deputy PM recalled that a EU Funds Management Bill has been
drafted, adding that "this is already a mature, final version".
The draft legislation will be discussed shortly with
representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the
universities and will go before Parliament this coming spring.
