Voter Turnout in First Round of Local Elections Was 53.60%

Sofia, October 29 (BTA) - The voter tournout in the first round of the local elections was 53.60 per cent, the Central Election Commission said on its website Thursday.

The turnout in the national referendum, which was held together with the local elections on October 25, was 39.67 per cent. A total of 69.49 per cent voted with "yes" and 25.99 per cent with "no" to the introduction of remote electronic voting. The invalid ballot papers amounted to 4.52 per cent, the Central Election Commission reported.
