Two Foreigners Go on Trial in January as Accomplices in 2012 Bourgas Bus Bombing
Bourgas, on the Black Sea, November 26 (BTA) - Two foreign natioinals are going on trial in January as accomplices in the deadly 2012 Bourgas bus bombing, Appellate Prosecutor Lyubomir Petrov told a news briefing here Thursday. The two men of undisclosed nationality are still at large and will be tried in their absence.
The July 18, 2012, bombing of a bus at Bourgas Sarafovo Airport in Bulgaria killed five Israeli holiday-makers, their Bulgarian bus driver and the suspected suicide bomber.
Petrov commented that the case was very serious and complex and the investigative authorities had to send more than 10 letters rogatory to obtain judicial assistance from abroad. Such assistance was sought from Israel, Lebanon, the US, Romania, the Czech Republic, Australia and Austria, among others.
