Defence Minister Nenchev Confers with Croatian Counterpart Buljevic in Zagreb

Zagreb, April 25 (BTA) - Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev conferred here on Monday with his Croatian counterpart Josip Buljevic as part of his two-day official visit to the Western Balkan country, the Defence Ministry reported in a press release.

The two defence ministers discussed common interests and similar positions the two countries have as EU and NATO members. The enhancement of regional cooperation, security along the EU borders, dealing with the increased refugee and migration pressure also featured on the agenda. Nenchev and Buljevic agreed that stability and cooperation in Southeast Europe must be viewed in a broad Euro-Atlantic context, which calls for continuing the integration and cooperation processes of the countries from the region in the European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

Nenchev introduced Buljevic to the current projects for modernizing the Bulgarian Army and the opportunities offered by the joint facilities on Bulgaria's territory. The two also discussed their expectations from the upcoming NATO Summit in Warsaw this July.
