site.btaGood Mountain Hiking Conditions on Monday

The conditions for tourism in the mountains are good, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross told BTA. 

The weather will be mostly sunny with scattered high clouds and a moderate to strong north-northwesterly wind. Highs: 9C at 1,200 metres, 4C at 2,000 metres, said the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.

The MRS has registered several reports of incidents in the last 24 hours.

In Pirin, mountain rescuers helped a man who, having lost his way, ended up in a rocky area from which there was no way up or down. A helicopter was also involved in the rescue operation.

Aid was also provided to  tourists in Vitosha Mountain. The MRS also assisted one person who got lost in in Stara Planina.
