site.btaBulgarian Parliamentary Delegation Visits Ukraine

Sofia, September 23 (BTA) - A Bulgarian parliamentary delegation led by National Assembly Chair Dimiter Glavchev is paying a visit to Ukraine for September 23-24 observances of the 155th anniversary of the migration of Bulgarians to the historical region of Tavria. The guests will attend the opening of the 6th Convention of Bulgarians in Tavria.

The delegation includes Deputy National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva, Bulgaria-Ukraine Friendship Group leader Milen Mihov and deputy leader Georgi Yordanov, as well as Ahmed Ahmedov.

Glavchev is scheduled to meet with the administration of the city of Melitopol, the leadership of the regional administration, town mayors, and the Bulgarian community in Prymorsk. The delegation will lay flowers at the monument to freedom fighter Hristo Botev in the village of Botevo. They will also travel to the city of Odessa to meet with the local Bulgarian community at the All-Ukrainian Centre of Bulgarian Culture.
