Sofia, December 24 (BTA) - There are no products in Bulgaria containing salmonella bacteria, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) said on Saturday.

Despite of this, as a precautionary measure, the French baby-milk maker Lactalis and its Bulgarian distributor have decided to recall all products from the market which were manufactured in the Craon factory after February 15, 2017.

Products from the brands Celia - Develop 1,2 and 3, all coming in 900 gramme packages, have been on sale in Bulgaria. Consumers who have purchased the products can return them to the merchant they had bought them from.

BFSA recalls that starting February 10, 2017, the French authorities have banned the sale of baby formula and a few other baby foods, manufactured by Lactalis for the French and foreign markets. The ban was imposed in response salmonella contamination.

The French Economy and Finance Ministry has published a list of over 600 batch numbers for products banned from consumption.

None of the contaminated batches have been imported in Bulgaria.
