Sofia, June 11 (BTA) - Education and Science Minister Krassimir Vulchev and representatives of the nationally representative trade unions and employer organizations Monday signed a collective bargaining agreement in the system of pre-school and school education, which envisages an opportunity for increasing teachers' salaries. The pay raise is planned for January 2019 but could happen at the start of the next school year in September in case of good financial implementation of the budget, the Education and Science Ministry said in a press release.

The minimum wages of teachers and other pedagogical experts are to be increased from the current 760 leva to 920 leva, of senior teachers and educators to 955 leva, and of head teachers to 1,005 leva.

The collective bargaining agreement also envisages an increase of the resources for teachers' qualification, which should amount to no less than 1.2 per cent of the money for the pedagogical personnel's salaries.

To be continued is the policy for creating jobs in schools and kindergartens for psychologists, pedagogical counsellors or social pedagogues, the Education and Science Ministry said.
