site.bta303 New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Bulgaria

August 6 (BTA) - The Bulgarian healthcare authorities
confirmed 303 new cases of COVID-19 in the country over the last
 24 hours, based on 5,701 PCR tests, according to data posted on
 the national web portal for coronavirus information on Thursday
 morning. This brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in
Bulgaria to 12,717, including 5,139 active ones.

The largest number of new cases were registered in the region of
 Blagoevgrad (97), followed by Varna (54), Plovdiv (45) and
Sofia (28).

A hundred and ninety COVID-19 patients recovered from the
disease over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of
recoveries to 7,154. A total of 872 patients are in hospital, 44
 of them in intensive care wards.

Nine patients died over the last 24 hours.

A total of 252 physicians, 240 nurses, 114 orderlies, 12
paramedics and 99 other medical staff in Bulgaria have been
infected with the disease so far. RY/VE
