Sofia, August 22 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 15,131 on Saturday after 169 new infections were confirmed over the last 24 hours out of 6,373 PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg.

Sofia City tops the list of new cases with 35 patients, followed by Dobrich with 25 and Plovdiv with 12.

A total of 365,096 PCR tests have been performed since the first cases were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 4,310. The newly infected persons include 7 medical staff (1 doctor, 2 nurses and 4 other), and this category now totals 831.

The hospitalized patients number 734, including 73 in intensive care.

Another 195 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 10,282.

Seven more fatalities were reported, bringing the total death toll to 539. LG
