site.bta5,443 PCR Tests Confirm 163 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 16,617

September 3 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 16,617 on Thursday after 163 new
infections were confirmed over the last 24 hours out of 5,443
PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 33 patients,
followed by Blagoevgrad Region with 29 and Varna Region with 21.

A total of 421,240 PCR tests have been performed since the first
 cases were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 4,209. The newly infected persons include
12 medical staff (5 doctors, 2 nurses, 1 orderly and 4 other),
and this category now totals 913 (321 doctors, 306 nurses, 139
orderlies, 15 feldshers and 132 other).

The hospitalized patients number 758, including 63 in intensive
care.

Another 145 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 11,760.

Six more fatalities were reported, and the death toll now totals
