The Bulgarian Society for Bird Protection joined the boated patrols in the Persina Nature Park and counted 243 Dalmatian and 119 pink-backed pelicans. The patrols are part of the activities for assessing the condition of the pelican colonies under the Life of Pelican project funded by the LIFE programme of the EU with support from the Whitlеy Fund for Nature
