site.bta448 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Sunday out of 3,795 PCR Tests

Sofia, October 11 (BTA) - A total of 448 new COVID-19 cases were registered on Sunday morning based on 3,795 PCR tests done in the previous 24 hours, show data posted on the national portal coronavirus.bg.

The total number of registered COVID-19 cases so far has reached 24,319, of which 7,610 are active. People who have recovered from the disease number 15,818, with 105 new recoveries reported in the 24 hours preceding Sunday morning.

A total of 1,189 people have been hospitalized, of whom 59 are in intensive care. There are four deaths attributed to COVID-19, bringing the total death toll up to 891 people.

The most new cases are reported in Sofia - 116, followed by the southwestern town of Blagoevgrad - 55, the coastal city of Varna - 49 and the southern city of Plovdiv - 42.

The number of infections among medical staff is 1 357.

A record-high 612 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the 24 hours preceding Saturday morning, which are based on 6,048 PCR tests.
