Sofia, October 21 (BTA) - Bulgaria's healthcare authorities
confirmed 1,336 new cases of COVID-19 in the country in the 24
hours until Tuesday midnight after conducting the record-high
11,505 PCR tests, according to data published on the national
coronavirus web portal https://coronavirus.bg. This puts the
share of positive test results at 11.61 per cent.

The highest number of new cases were registered in Sofia (523)
and Plovdiv (135).
   
There are 13,430 active cases. A total of 1,633 are
hospitalized, 93 of them in intensive care units.

Eleven people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing
the death toll to 1,019. Meanwhile, 261 patients recovered from
the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 17,414.
   
Since the start of the pandemic, 1,682 medical professionals
have contracted COVID-19, with 60 new cases in the last 24
hours.
