site.bta9,038 PCR Tests Confirm 1,595 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 34,930

October 23 (BTA) - A total of 1,595 COVID-19 infections were confirmed in past 24 hours through 9,038 PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg on Friday. The positivity rate is 17.65 per cent.

Out of a total of 34,930 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 16,033 are active.

The largest number of new cases are in Sofia (549), followed by Plovdiv (140) and Blagoevgrad (90).

A total of 1,792 patients are hospitalized, including 112 in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, 16 people died, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,064.

Recoveries in the last 24 hours number 235, bringing the total to 17,833.
