Sofia, October 25 (BTA) - A total of 1,043 COVID-19 infections were confirmed in past 24 hours through 7,094 PCR tests, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg on Sunday. The positivity rate is 14.7 per cent.

Out of a total of 37,562 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 18,246 are active.

The largest number of new cases are in the capital Sofia (393), followed by Plovdiv (76) and Varna (58).

A total of 1,976 patients are hospitalized, including 138 in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, 7 people died, bringing the total number of fatalities to 1,084.

Recoveries in the last 24 hours number 130, bringing the total to 18,232.

The newly infected health workers are 41. There are 1,872 COVID cases among medics, including 680 doctors and 626 nurses. LN/DD
