European Arthouse Cinema Day
Marked
Nov. 8

Sofia, November 3 (BTA) - Sofia's Cinema House is hosting the European Arthouse Cinema Day on November 8, said Art Fest. This is the fifth such event taking place in cinemas all over the world with support from the International Confederation of Art Cinemas (CICAE) and Europa Cinemas.

Some of the best European films will be screened across Europe to celebrate the engagement of European cinemas in favour of cultural diversity. Statistics show that arthouse cinemas in Europe have an audience of more than 100 million every year.

The Cinema House will be showing Lorenzo Mattotti's animated film "The Bears' Famous Invasion of Sicily", Agnieszka Holland's "Charlatan" and Svetla Tsotsorkova's "Sister" (winner of the Sofia City of Film Grand Prix Award at the 24th Sofia International Film Festival).

Directors Agnieszka Holland (Poland), Caroline Link (Germany) and Lucas Belvaux (Belgium) are the ambassadors of this year's European Arthouse Cinema Day.
