Sofia, October 11 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria reached 520,862, after 5,736 tests identified 621 new infections on Sunday, according to data posted on https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at 10.83 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 193 positive tests, followed by Varna Region with 76 cases and Plovdiv with 32.

The active cases are 50,406. Currently, the hospitalized patients number 5,503, including 470 in intensive care.

The infected medical staff have reached 14,786.

Another 576 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 448,800.

40 fatalities were reported (95.00 per cent unvaccinated), and the death toll now adds up to 21,656.

With 1,219 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 2,588,714 vaccine doses have been administered so far and 1,361,629 people are fully vaccinated, and 4,583 have received a booster jab.
