Interior Ministry Chief Secretary:
Turkish Aircraft Is Being Checked
After Emergency Landing at Sofia Airport

Sofia, November 8 (BTA) - A check is being conducted into a
Turkish aircraft which has made an emergency landing at Sofia
Airport, Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Svetlozar Lazarov
told reporters on Saturday. He was taking a question after a
ceremony marking the Day of the Bulgarian Police.

"Once the check is complete and we have specific and reliable
information, we will make it public," he added. In his words,
the reason for the emergency landing is suspicious luggage on
board.

Lazarov also told reporters that six persons were arrested
during a police operation in Sofia on Friday evening. The
detainees are part of a group involved in racketeering and
blackmail and controlling illegal activities, including
prostitution, he specified.
He refused to give additional information due to the ongoing
investigation.
