Brussels, November 8 (BTA) - European Council President Herman
Van Rompuy Friday congratulated GERB leader Boyko Borissov on
his election as Prime Minister of Bulgaria, the European Council
 said in a press release Friday.

"On behalf of the European Union, I would like to congratulate
Boyko Borissov for being elected for his second term as Prime
Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria. I am confident that his
continued leadership will help steer Bulgaria through the
challenges ahead and that he will equally continue his country's
 constructive contribution to the European Union. The European
Council looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Borissov at
its next meeting," the congratulatory address reads.
