Representatives of Polish, German Human Rights
Organizations Hold Peaceful Symbolic
Event

Golyam Dervent village, Southeastern Bulgaria, November 9 (BTA)
- A symbolic event near this village at the Bulgarian-Turkish
border organized by young people from Polish and German
non-governmental organizations for human rights protection
marking the 25th anniversary since the fall of the Berlin War
ended peacefully.

The participants in the event advanced to 300 m from the
recently erected fence at the border between Bulgaria and Turkey
and, brandishing pairs of scissors, symbolically cut the fence
"to avert the deterring of refugees" coming in Bulgaria. The
participants in the event were stopped by a police cordon and
told that access to the fence is forbidden. The event ended with
calls that the refugees are welcome in Bulgaria. SN /ZH/
