Court Will Be Asked for Volen Siderov's Remand in Custody - Prosecutor General

Sofia, November 12 (BTA) - Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov
commented that the court would be asked for Ataka leader Volen
Siderov's remand in custody.  An attempt will be made to summon
Siderov on Thursday so he can be served an indictment for an
incident in which he and fellow MP Dessislav Choukolov burst
into the building of the National Academy for Theatre and Film
Arts on October 25, the night after the local elections.

Parliament authorized  the detention of Siderov and Choukolov on
 Wednesday.

The voting came in response to an October 26 motion by the
Prosecutor General to authorize criminal proceedings for
hooliganism and coercion against Siderov and Choukolov and their
 detention.

After he is served an indictment, Siderov will be remanded for
72 hours and the court will decide if he should be released
afterwards, said Tsatsarov.

Charges of hooliganism were brought against the two on Tuesday,
after Parliament approved another request made by the Prosecutor
General. He asked to have Siderov's and Choukolov's immunity
lifted over a separate incident in central Sofia from a month
ago, in which the two accused the owners of a small tobacco shop
of selling drugs, and behaved aggressively.
