Modern Equipment to Measure Air, Soil Quality, Noise Pollution in Bulgaria

Sofia, November 16 (BTA) - The National System for Environmental Monitoring has acquired the most modern equipment for measuring the quality of air, soil, water and noise pollution, OP Environment said in a press release Monday.

Thirty-four stationary labs have been re-equipped with the new devices, which guarantee the data accuracy of all samples and tests. An additional six mobile labs have also been delivered, the press release said.

The modern equipment was purchased under OP Environment 2007-2013 as part of a project worth 41 million leva, implemented by the Executive Environment Agency.

The new equipment complies with the higher requirements of European and national environmental legislation.

The National Automatic System for Continuous Monitoring of Gamma Background in Bulgaria has been renovated under the project.
