Energy Minister Participates in Moscow Conference on Russia's Role in the Global Energy Mix

Moscow/Sofia, November 17 (BTA) - Speaking at the international
congress on "Transformation of the Energy Markets and Russia's
Role in the Global Energy Mix" which opened in Moscow on
Tuesday, Energy Minister Temenouzhka Petkova said that as all of
Bulgaria's gas sector projects are implemented, the energy
market of Southeastern Europe will develop. The Bulgarian
government is working hard to build its energy market.

The forum is organized as part of the annual edition of the
international exhibition of equipment and innovations in oil and
 gas exploration, production and processing.

Petkova told the participants in the forum that Bulgaria's
electricity market would make the transition to full
liberalization in 2016. "At the same time a market segment for
trade in natural gas will start to develop in Bulgaria," she
said.

The government has drawn up a concept for building a gas
distribution hub on Bulgarian territory, said Petkova, adding
that it would rely on three sources of gas, including Russian
gas. She stressed Bulgaria's good relations with its Russian
partners and the security of energy supplies, and said she was
confident about the future constructive dialogue.
