Salzburg Forum Holds Ministerial Conference in Sofia

Sofia, November 18 (BTA) - Opening a Sofia ministerial
conference of the Salzburg Forum, Bulgarian Interior Minister
Roumyana Buchvarova said that having this meeting at this
particular moment is a proof that the Forum is a useful platform
for exchange of ideas and information.

The Salzburg Forum is a Central European government initiative
on internal security. The Sofia forum is held during the
Bulgarian Presidency.

"I donТt want to seek any signs in the fact that our meeting is
held precisely at this time but in any case the recent events in
Europe place a very clear framework for the problems we are
faced with," said Buchvarova.

She added that the good decisions are easier and faster to make
during difficult moments.

Buchvarova noted that the Salzburg Forum is an opportunity for
improving cooperation among the member states and for sending
important messages to the European institutions and the partners
within and without the region of the organization. She added
that the Sofia meeting is held only days ahead of a Justice and
Home Affairs Council in Brussels.

On the agenda of the Sofia forum are the unprecedented migration
pressure across Europe and the European response to the growing
 terrorism threat.

The participants in the forum stood a silent moment in memory of
the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in France.
