Heroin Worth Lv 2 Mln Seized on Serbian Border

Sofia, November 23 (BTA) - Customs officers have seized over 21.5 kg of heroin at the Kalotina checkpoint on the border with Serbia, said the Customs Agency on Wednesday.

The substance, which tested positive for heroin, was found in a custom-built secret compartment in a Bulgarian-registered car on its way to Western Europe. The heroine was divided into 43 identical identical packages. It is valued by the authorities at close to two million leva.

Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated and the car's driver detained.
