Bulgaria Reloaded: A New Political Party of Nikolai Barekov

Sofia, January 8 (BTA) - Bulgaria Reloaded is the name of a new political party headed by Nikolai Barekov, a journalist-turned-politician who serves as a member of the European Parliament (EP). Bulgaria Reloaded was constituted on Saturday during the third national congress of Barekov's former party, Bulgaria Without Censorship (BWC), which was dissolved and superseded by the new project, the BWC reported.

The leadership of the new party also includes Georgi Balabanov, a longtime aide of Barekov in the EP and in its European Conservatives and Reformists group, and Katya Ivanova, a law expert sitting on the Central Election Commission in Sofia. Barekov was unanimously elected top leader. He also led the defunct BWC.

The name of the new party was chosen after more than 200,000 people voted in a week-long Internet poll. The name Bulgaria Reloaded was supported by over 60 per cent of them. The choice was upheld by a unanimous vote at the congress.
