Sofia, June 1 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has congratulated Zoran Zaev on his election to the post of Prime Minister of Macedonia, the Government information service said Thursday. The sides had a telephone conversion in which Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov also participated.
Borissov noted: "My personal contacts with you, Mr. Zaev, give me grounds to believe that together we can work to consolidate good neighbourly relations between our two countries and to bring Macedonia closer to the negotiations for accession to the European Union." He underscored that the election of the new Macedonian government has been a long-awaited step to overcome the political crisis in the country.
Borissov hailed the determination of both President Ivanov and the new PM Zaev to launch the necessary reforms and wished them good luck. "This step will give Macedonia a European perspective," Borissov said./PK/BR
