site.btaMPs Adopt Calendar for Bulgarian Presidency of EU Council in 2018

Sofia, July 28 (BTA) - The National Assembly adopted Friday a calendar of the parliamentary dimension of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council from January 1 to June 30, 2018. The calendar features six events, said the parliamentary press office.

A meeting of the chairs of the EU affairs committees in the national parliaments of the EU member states (COSAC chairpersons' meeting) will be held in Sofia on January 21-22.

An interparliamentary conference on the common foreign and security policy and the common security and defence policy will be held in Sofia February 8-10.

An interparliamentary conference on stability, economic coordination and management in the EU is due February 19-20 in Brussels.

A joint group for parliamentary monitoring of EUROPOL will be held March 18-19 in Sofia.

A meeting of the chairpersons of the energy committees in the national parliaments of the EU member states is due March 13-14 in Sofia.

A conference of the EU affairs committees in the national parliaments of the EU member states (COSAC plenary) will be held June 17-19 in Sofia.

The dates have been coordinated at expert level with Brussels and all institutions involved in the EU Presidency on the Bulgarian side.

Parliament is determined to stick to the policy of common approach, constructive dialogue and consistent actions by all parliamentary parties in respect to the parliamentary dimension of the EU Presidency and its preparation.
