Household Deposits Reach Lv 46 Bln at August-end

Sofia, September 27 (BTA) - At the end of August 2017, deposits of the non-government sector added up to 70.379 billion leva (71.7 per cent of GDP),
an annual increase by 6 per cent, according to data of the Bulgarian National Bank.

The deposits of non-financial corporations were 20.919 billion leva (21.3 per cent of GDP) at the end of August 2017. Compared with the same month of 2016 they increased by 11.1 per cent.

The deposits of financial corporations decreased by 13.2 per cent annually in
August 2017, down to 3.353 billion leva (3.4 per cent of GDP).

The deposits of Households and NPISHs (Non-profit institutions serving households) were 46.106 billion leva (47 per cent of GDP) at the end of August 2017. They increased by 5.4 per cent compared with the same month of 2016.

At the end of August 2017, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to 52.522 billion leva(53.5 per cent of GDP) compared to 52.461 billion leva (53.5 per cent of GDP) at the end of July 2017. They increased annually by 4.6 per cent in August 2017.

In August 2017, loans to non-financial corporations increased by 2.8 per cent annually and at the end of the month amounted to 31.238 billion leva (31.8 per cent of GDP).

Loans to Households and NPISHs amounted to 19.372 billion leva (19.7 per cent of GDP) at the end of August 2017. They increased by 5.7 per cent compared to the same month of 2016. At the end of August 2017 loans for house purchases totaled 9.225 billion leva and increased by 5.4 per cent annually.

Consumer loans amounted to 7.703 billion leva and compared with August 2016 they increased by 5.4 per cent.

Loans granted to financial corporations added up to 1.912 billion leva at the end of August 2017 up by 27.6 per cent.

Net foreign assets amounted to 51.852 billion leva at the end of the reporting month, up by 2.4 per cent compared with August 2016. At the end of August 2017 foreign assets increased by 2.9 per cent annually, reaching 61.058 billion leva. Foreign liabilities amounted to 9.206 billion leva, marking a 5.3 per cent annual growth.
