Brussels, May 28 (BTA correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva Monday expressed a hope that the decision about Macedonia's name arrived at by the chief diplomats of Macedonia and Greece would receive further approval.
After the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, Zaharieva said she and her Austrian counterpart held a breakfast meeting with the foreign ministers of Macedonia and Greece. "We were briefed on the progress of reforms in Macedonia. The good news we heard from [foreign] ministers Nikos Kotzias and Nikola Dimitrov is that at least they have agreed in principle on the name and expect their prime ministers and governments to approve it for the process to move forward," she said.
"We have left it to them to announce their decision about the name. I think it is a good, positive solution for all parties, including Bulgaria, which is interested to see this matter sorted out," Zaharieva said.
