The International Portrait Film Festival opened in Varna on Thursday and will be held until November 17, the organizers said on their Facebook page. The festival will present the best short titles from the previous four editions of the festival, with the screenings being free and taking place in several locations around the seaside city.

On the first day there will be a screening of Rafal Malecki's environmental documentary film Rust at the National School of Arts, after which there will be a discussion and a creative workshop.

On Saturday the festival will offer a selection of the best six titles from the 2020 to 2023 festival editions at the City Art Gallery. After the screenings, the three Varna artists Yana Stoyanova, Ralitsa Sekulidis and Boris Vasilev will present their works to the audience.

The Cinema for Two format will take place on Saturday afternoon at the Archaeological Museum and on Sunday at the Sumatoha club. In the format, groups of two will be able to see 8 short films from the official selections of the festival after pre-registration.

The International Portrait Film Festival is a project of Portret Films Ltd.
