Between the start of the season and the end of September, 265 cruise ships with tourists docked at Vidin Centre Port, the port authority told BTA on Thursday. Typically, the active season concludes in November, but last year the final ships arrived at the end of December.

In the first nine months, a total of 36,285 people visited the Baba Vida fortress. Of these, 11,362 were foreign tourists, primarily arriving on cruise ships, as reported by the historical site.

During this time, the Belogradchik Fortress welcomed 78,625 visitors, including 25,444 from abroad, Belogradchik municipal administration representative Iva Aleksandrova said.

The tourist program includes visits to Baba Vida and the Belogradchik Fortress, a walking tour of Vidin's city centre, a cycling tour through the riverside park, and tastings of local cuisine and wines. The Vidin Sinfonietta presents a concert-lecture showcasing works by Bulgarian composers. Most shore excursions in Vidin end with a folklore performance on board.
