Bulgaria has its own pavilion at a UN Climate Change Conference for the second time. The COP29 forum is held in Baku on November 11-22.

In line with the main agenda of conference, the discussions at the Bulgarian Pavilion focus on securing the finance needed to combat and adapt to climate change, net-zero competitiveness, decarbonization, and green initiatives for Southeastern Europe. There are panels devoted to the role of women in climate finance, the place of scientists and universities and their cooperation in the fight against the climate crisis, and the role of AI in early warning systems.

The events at the Bulgarian Pavilion are organized jointly by the Administration of the President, the ministries of energy, of innovation and growth, of environment and water, and of transport and communications, the Green Transition Fund, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Sofia University.

Those invited to participate in the discussions are high-level representatives of the Bulgarian authorities, representatives of Greece, Moldova and Romania, of the European Commission structures, financial and multilateral institutions, business leaders, NGOs and academics.

Bulgaria first participated in a UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai in 2023.
