Turkiye has called on Israel to adhere to the ceasefire agreement just hours after it became known that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had ordered the Israeli army to carry out strikes in Gaza.

“The attacks by Israel against Gaza constitute a flagrant violation of the ceasefire,” reads the official statement published on the website of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Through this statement, Turkiye expresses its concern over reports of civilian casualties following these attacks.

“ We once again emphasize that full adherence to the ceasefire is of vital importance for preserving the prospect for lasting peace and ensuring regional security,” the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Ankara stressed that it will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to support efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.

“We once again call on Israel to abide by the ceasefire agreement and to refrain from actions that undermine peace and stability,” the statement concluded.
