Representatives of Bulgarian cultural organizations in Seattle met with the Bulgarian Ambassador to the USA Georgi Panayotov on December 15, Elka Ruskov, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in Washington State and co-president of the Bulgarian Centre for Culture and Heritage in Seattle told BTA on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by over 40 guests from the Bulgarian community in Seattle. Ruskov emphasized that they were able to talk about their activities and had the opportunity to ask questions to the Ambassador. She noted that among the topics that were discussed during the event were how the Bulgarian Embassy can assist in issuing visas for visiting artists and tourists from Bulgaria, if the Embassy has initiatives and plans to strengthen the ties between the individual Bulgarian communities in the USA, as well as how and where demographic information about Bulgarians in the USA can be found.
In Seattle, Panayotov also visited the Microsoft Research Building to meet with Bulgarians working there, Ruskov pointed out. Ivan Tashev, co-president of the Bulgarian Cultural Centre and a long-time employee of Microsoft, introduced Panayotov to the organization and the latest audio and video innovations of the software industry, Ruskov said. She thanked Panayotov for his visit and and wished the new year to be peaceful, calm and successful for Bulgaria and the world.
