Bulgarian actor Luben Kanev debuts in London's West End on April 18. He will play the role of Marc in Yasmina Reza's Art within the Industry Showcase event at Soho Theatre, Kanev told BTA. In his words, the show is a composition of texts from several authors and will presented to the wide audience as well as critics, producers, theatre and film agents, and casting directors of the highest world level in this business.

Kanev has been living in London for several years. After his roles in the Bulgarian TV series Undercover and All Inclusive, he began writing theatre texts. In 2023, he was accepted in the MA Classical Acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama at the University of London; he is due to graduate this year. Because of his studies, he has postponed to later in 2024 the premiere of his play Aquarium People.

Also this year, the London audience can watch Kanev in two new plays, John Webster's The White Devil an Friedrich Dürrenmatt's The Visit.

Kanev was born on November 12, 1982 in Stara Zagora (South Central Bulgaria). He graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia in 2010. In 2009, he won the international Shakespeare award for best actor at the GATS International Theatre Festival for his role of Brutus in Julius Caesar, directed by Plamen Markov. In 2011, he debuted on the theatre stage in Kris Sharkov's A Doll's House at the Plovdiv Drama Theatre, followed by roles in seven other plays. In 2014, he wrote and produced his first play, Stop - the Devil Pleaded Guilty. Kanev is also known for his roles in the TV series Undercover, All Inclusive, the Bulgarian's Sign, Mr. X and the Sea, and Ungiven.
