Odesa came under drone attack for a second night in a row, said Odesa regional military administration chairman Oleg Kipper on the Telegram app on Thursday. "The air defense forces precisely dispatched every enemy target. As a result of falling debris from downed drones, damage was caused to a residential dormitory. 11 people were injured, including 3 children," he added.
"A 43-year-old civilian died after yesterday's attack. Today 11 people were injured, including children. All are receiving necessary medical assistance," Odessa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov noted on the Telegram app.
City officials are on the scene and have provided food and hot drinks to the injured. The issue of temporary resettlement of Odesa residents whose homes were damaged as a result of the attack is currently being resolved. Rescuers have promptly extinguished the fire.
The Bulgarian community in the Odessa region is the third largest, numbering more than 150,000 people, according to the official 2001 census in Ukraine. About 50,000 - 60,000 Bulgarians live in Odesa.
