The new school year began in the Bolhrad Municipality on September 1 with 2,259 students in attendance. Of these 169 are first-graders and 178 are 11-th graders, said the Town Hall on its website.

All students in Bolhrad Municipality will attend in-person classes with the exception of the Tabakov High School as there is no bomb shelter.

There are eight high schools in the municipality. Two are located in the city of Bolhrad and the rest in the villages with Bulgarian population.

Bolhrad also houses the G.S. Rakovski High School which is a district school, financed by the Odesa Oblast Council.

The Bolhrad High School opened its doors for 449 students from first to 11th grade. There are 48 first graders. Classes are held remotely and in person. When the repairs of the bomb shelter are finished to accommodate all students, all classes will be in person, school principal Snezhana Skorich told BTA.
