site.btaWe Guarantee Development of Small Business, Says Tsveta Kirilova from Blue Bulgaria
Small and medium-sized businesses in Bulgaria are victims of administrative arbitrariness, licensing regimes and constant changes to regulations, said Blue Bulgaria top-of-the-list candidate in Haskovo Tsveta Kirilova on Thursday.
She noted that it requires an investment of one's own financial resource to cover the successive regulatory requirements, which leads to limited business activity, job sacrifices, job losses and business closures.
Kirilova emphasised that the solution is to lift the administrative burden and arbitrariness from the backs of the workers by canceling more than 40 archaic permit regimes for business within the first year of the administration.
Other measures she proposed are a legal restriction on arbitrary or unfounded checks by the state, a reduction in VAT from 20% to 19% in 2026 and from 19% to 18% within the entire four-year government term, and a drop in the flat income tax from 10% to 9 % during this time.
