Caretaker Minister of Innovation and Growth Rosen Karadimov, who has been appointed coordinator for the parliamentary snap elections on October 27, reported during a briefing at the Council of Ministers here on Wednesday that preparations for the elections, in particular the part related to material and technical support, are fully on schedule.
Karadimov said: "Deadlines are strictly adhered to. We are in close coordination with the Central Election Commission and communicate with them daily. The coordination is extremely good. We have no record of any deadlines or activities missed, including the huge work that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already done to organize the elections abroad."
The Minister reiterated that the electoral process will be done through paper ballot and machine voting. He added: "At the beginning of the preparations, we made a proposal to the Central Election Commission to streamline the process with machine voting, especially the authentication of the machines. This process is going well." He expressed hope that the machine voting process will become more transparent and instil more confidence in voters.
