Economy, industry, justice and low taxes are areas we have always supported, said GERB leader Boyko Borissov in Haskovo during an election meeting with local supporters.
And if this circle is closed, if the Recovery and Resilience Plan is implemented, if the local authorities pull themselves together and mayors tap only their own resources, without turning to EU funds, we can cope. This is my optimistic reading of this topic, Borissov added. But if we don't do it this way, rest assured that in no more than three or four months we will be saying the same thing for the eighth time. And the macroeconomic indicators will be worse, Borissov said. Responding to a question from an audience member, he said that forming a majority in the new parliament would be difficult and that GERB-UDF would have to have more than 80 MPs to look for an option that would work.
Top of the list candidate in Haskovo Delyan Dobrev warned that a hole of BGN 18 billion, or a deficit of 8%, is looming in next year's budget. Regarding the priorities, Dobrev said that these are the sanitation and the construction of two new power plants. The leader of the GERB-UDF list in Gabrovo, Tomislav Donchev, said that the party's programme includes a set of measures to increase economic growth and competitiveness.
Yordanka Fandakova, GERB’s top candidate in 24th constituency in Sofia, stressed that economic growth without good education is impossible and this area should unite all politicians.
