The Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) Coalition has devised measures to boost incomes and a special package in support of young families, the coalition's Andrei Tsekov told supporters in Blagoevgrad on Friday, as quoted by the local CC-DB chapter. Tsekov tops the CC-DB list of parliamentary candidates in the Blagoevgrad constituency for the October 27 snap elections.

He said the national economic model of the last three years should be retained as it allows for incomes to grow. If the pace is maintained, it is realistic to expect that the average monthly wage in Bulgaria will be EUR 2,000 four years from now, and the minimum wage, EUR 1,000, he said.

"We plan to keep the tax rates unchanged and to maintain a price cap on electricity for businesses. If there is no government racketeering, companies will generate a higher gross national product, and hence, the economy will develop and citizens' incomes will grow," Tsekov said.

The social package for young families proposed by CC-DB includes doubling the tax rebate for families with children to BGN 1,200 annually for one child and BGN 2,400 for two children; an annual subsidy of BGN 300 for every school-goer from first to seventh grade; and cost-free prescription medicines for kids up to seven years of age.
