An official delegation of the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, led by top-of-the-list candidate in Burgas and Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Chairman Dzhevdet Chakarov, held a meeting with AK Parti Deputy Chair Zafer Sarikaya at the party's headquarters in Ankara. The delegation presented the political situation in Bulgaria and the challenges the organization faces in restoring democracy and statehood, the Alliance's press centre reported Monday.
Sarikaya expressed concern and supported the leadership's efforts to preserve the community's unity and normalize the situation in Bulgaria, the press release reads.
Later in the day, Charakov and the delegation led by him took part in an official wreath-laying ceremony at the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the modern Turkish state and friend of Bulgaria.
On the delegation were MRF representatives in Turkiye Abdurrahman Nursoy (Izmir), Oldzhay Yozgon (Istanbul), Guner Chetin (Thrace), Lyutfi Yozgur (Marmara), Hassan Azis (member of MRF's Central Council), MPs Sevim Ali and Myumyun Myumyun, Youth MRF leader Tanzer Yuseinov.
