The leader of the list of Vazrazhdane in the 4th Multi-Member Constituency (MIR) Veliko Tarnovo, Angel Yanchev, and candidates opened the election campaign in the church of St. Archangel Michael in the village of Obedinenie with a blessing-of-waters ritual, the party's press centre said on Sunday. 

The ritual was officiated by Hieromonk Meletius with wishes for success in the important and difficult works of the party candidates in the upcoming October 27 elections. 

The church was built by 20 families from the village of Obedinenie in the 1850s and consecrated in 1878 by Metropolitan Clement (Vasil Drumev).

It is no coincidence that we chose to open our campaign in this temple, the patron saint of Bulgarian freedom, the commitment of Vazrazhdane for the years to come is to gradually renovate the temple, and the streets leading to it, Angel Yanchev said.
