A memorandum of cooperation was signed by the Chairperson of Moldova's Taraclia District Lazar Dermenji and the Mayor of the southern Bulgarian Municipality of Nikolaevo, Konstantin Kostov. The event took place during the folklore festival “At the Foot of Asara,” held in the town of Nikolaevo. The document lays the foundation for a partnership in the fields of culture, education, youth activities, and economic development. Both sides expressed readiness to exchange experience and best practices, promote cultural dialogue, and implement joint initiatives for the benefit of their local communities.
“We will build stable and fruitful relations for the benefit of young people, tourism, and the economy. I am convinced that our joint work will be effective and productive. Today marks the beginning of a long-term and truly valuable friendship,” said the Mayor of Nikolaevo Municipality.
In addition to representatives from Taraclia, the festival brought together performers and artisans from various parts of Bulgaria, as well as guests from Greece and Turkiye. Groups showcasing authentic folklore, folk choirs, and dance clubs presented the richness of Balkan traditions through performances, costumes, and customs.
